NightSide - A Debate On Question 3

BOSTON (CBS) - As we get closer and closer to Election Day on November 8th, we've taken some time here on NightSide to highlight the ballot questions facing Massachusetts, along with the national issues being debated. We've already discussed the charter school question and the marijuana question on the show, and tonight we'll take a look at Question 3. If Question 3 passes, it would ban the sale of eggs, veal, and pork from farms that don't provide animals enough space to stand up, lie down, turn around, and fully extend their limbs. Advocates say this is an important step to help prevent animal cruelty, while critics say this is extremely uncommon in Massachusetts anyway, and are concerned about a rise in food costs. Paul Shapiro and Diane Sullivan join Dan in studio to discuss the issue.

Originally broadcast October 18th, 2016.
