MANCHESTER, NH - New Hampshire voters headed to the polls Tuesday for one of final primaries of the 2022 season.

Voters will determine whether heavily favored Republican Governor Chris Sununu will face GOP opposition. Sununu is running for his fourth, two-year term as governor and is heavily favored over the five other GOP opponents.

Democratic Sen. Tom Sherman is running unopposed for the Democratic Party's nomination for governor.

There are also two Republican primaries to challenge Democratic incumbents in both of New Hampshire's congressional districts.

The U.S. Senate race is getting the most national attention. On Tuesday, voters will choose which Republican will challenge Sen. Maggie Hassan in November, potentially impacting control of the U.S. Senate.

WBZ spoke with voters about what issues are impacting their votes. Many said they are influenced by national issues with local implications.

"I mean, the economy is terrible. Inflation being what it is, we're both retired. We're living on our savings and what not," said Norman Blanchette who said he is hoping to vote out the state's Democratic incumbents.

Voter Tamara McShea said she voted for all of the Democratic incumbents because she wants to protect the right to an abortion.

"To me, women's rights. You know? Just the right to be able to be seen medically and have whatever I need, done," McShea said.
