Needham High School Principal Resigns Following Workplace Conduct Complaint

NEEDHAM (CBS) -- The principal of Needham High School has resigned amid an investigation into his workplace conduct, officials said.

The superintendent announced the resignation of Dr. Jonathan Pizzi Saturday on the district's website. Pizzi had been placed on administrative leave Wednesday pending investigation of the complaint, Superintendent Daniel E. Gutekanst wrote.

The complaint didn't involve students, according to the school district.

"We want to emphasize that no students were involved in the allegations," Gutekanst wrote. "Dr. Pizzi had been scheduled to be interviewed this coming Wednesday, May 6, 2015, as part of the District's internal investigation regarding the allegation."

Gutekanst said administrators are focused on the needs of students, and won't release any more details because it's a personnel matter.
