Molly Huddle Wins Tufts 10K Road Race On Columbus Day
BOSTON (CBS) -- Several thousand runners turned out for the 39th annual Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women on Columbus Day Monday in Boston.
The road race for runners of all abilities served as the USA Track & Field 2015 10K Women's Championship.
Molly Huddle has participated in the race before. She's won this course four times, and this time she broke a course record.
The Olympian completed the race in 31:21.
"I feel like if I can keep this going next year, I'll be in a good spot for the Olympics," she told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Karyn Regal. "I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing (and) try not to get hurt."
Tens of thousands of spectators watched the field, including elite runners to those running with strollers, finish the race. Donna Simmons of Buzzards Bay ran the race dressed as Wonder Woman, and she was running for cancer awareness.
