BOSTON -- Mike Gesicki is just days removed from his best moment with the Patriots, when he hauled in the game-winning touchdown from Mac Jones with a dozen seconds left on the clock in Sunday's upset win over the Bills.

There's a chance he doesn't end up authoring many more of those moments in New England, though.

In an ESPN story featuring trade candidates for all 32 NFL teams ahead of the Oct. 31 deadline, Gesicki was spotlighted by Mike Reiss as the pick for the Patriots.

"He could easily be a No. 1 option for a team that has a tight end need," the story stated. "New England signed Gesicki to a one-year contract in the offseason, and if another team was willing to part with a middle-rounds draft pick, that might be something the Patriots at least consider with No. 3 TE Pharaoh Brown also on the depth chart."

The 28-year-old Gesicki has 17 receptions for 149 yards and the one big touchdown this season. Last year -- his fifth in Miami -- he caught 32 passes for 362 yards, his lowest totals since his rookie season. He did, however, still catch five touchdowns.
