MFA Returns Painting Stolen During World War II
BOSTON (CBS) - The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is returning a 17th century painting to the heirs of a Jewish collector. The museum will send View of Beverwijk to a Hungarian family.
The oil painting was looted from a vault as the owner fled during World War II. There is mounting pressure on museums around the world to return objects stolen during the war.
The MFA has resolved several cases like these in recent years.
