Medford Schools, Playgrounds Target Of Hate Crime Graffiti

MEDFORD (CBS) - Medford Police say a dozen different areas in South Medford, including Tufts University, were tagged with swastikas, racially charged language and gang symbols.

Schools, playgrounds and posted signs were targeted over the weekend.

On Monday, the Anti-Defamation League condemned the graffiti.

"It is most disturbing that this graffiti was found outside of an elementary school where young children come to learn and should feel safe. The Medford Police Department has made it clear that these acts will not be tolerated and we commend their efforts," said Robert Trestan, ADL Acting New England Regional Director.

Medford Police are continuing to investigate. They ask anyone with information to call the Medford Police
