Two Children Injured In Rollover Crash On Mass. Pike In Natick

NATICK (CBS) -- Two children were seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash on the Mass. Pike Sunday afternoon.

Massachusetts State Police said the two victims, an 11-year-old girl and a 6-month-old girl, were taken from the scene by Life Flight helicopter to Tufts Medical Center with serious injuries.

They said there were five people in the car when it crashed, including two adults and a third child who were not hurt.

The crash happened around 12:50 p.m. Sunday when the 2009 Range Rover the family was in lost control and rolled into the gully running alongside the Pike.

The eastbound side of the Pike was closed temporarily so the helicopter could land. It was reopened shortly before 2 p.m.

The cause of the crash was not yet known.
