Man Charged With Raping 14-Year-Old Girl At Hyannis Cemetery

HYANNIS (CBS) -- An Eastham man is facing several charges after he allegedly raped a teenage girl he had been been talking with via social media for several weeks at an Hyannis cemetery on Wednesday.

Police were called to the Pine Avenue area around 8 p.m. on a report of a missing 14-year-old girl.

Officers met with the missing girl's mother, who had found her daughter's bicycle by the side of the road. Moments later, the girl came walking down the road and told police that she had been raped.

She was taken to Cape Cod Hospital.

Detectives spoke with the girl at the hospital and learned that she and the suspect had been chatting online through Facebook and SnapChat. She told investigators that Wednesday was the first time they had met in person.

The girl identified the suspect as 24-year-old Bruce Henrique.

She told police that Henrique picked her up in his SUV, drove her to nearby Oak Grove Cemetery and then raped her.

After the alleged sexual assault, Henrique drove her back to the area where her bike was and dropped her off.

Investigators say they found computer forensics that showed the girl had told Henrique multiple times that she was only 14 years old. He sent her nude photos of himself in a state of arousal, police say.

With help from Eastham police, Barnstable police arrested Henrique near his home on Thursday evening. He allegedly admitted to picking up the girl in his vehicle and driving her to the cemetery.

He has been charged with three counts of rape of a child under 16, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 years or over, and single counts of enticing a child under 16 and dissemination of obscene material to a minor.

He was scheduled for arraignment in Barnstable District Court on Friday.
