Lackey Leaves Game Against Jays With Biceps Strain
TORONTO (CBS) - Red Sox starting pitcher John Lackey left Saturday's game against the Blue Jays with a right biceps strain, according to the team.
After delivering a pitch in the fifth inning, Lackey appeared in obvious pain, clutching his right arm as second baseman Dustin Pedroia rushed to the mound to check on the pitcher.
Lackey had recorded eight strikeouts in the game before the injury.
Lackey was pitching in his first Major League game in nearly two years after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right arm and missing all of last season.
