Kevin Love Visits Boston, Gets Recruited By David Ortiz Via Twitter

BOSTON (CBS) -- Celtics fans want Kevin Love to land in Boston, and that's exactly what the NBA All-Star did over the weekend.

Now fans are hoping the weekend in the Hub is enough to convince Love to push the Timberwolves for a trade to the Celtics.

Dirty Water News is reporting that Love was in town to "just check out the city and see what it's like."  It looks as though Love enjoyed himself, as he stopped and took pictures with fans throughout the weekend.

But one photo in particular sent the internet into a tizzy, as Love met up with Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo at Sunday's Red Sox game:

It was just a quick meeting, but the photo has Celtics fans envisioning what the two players could do together on the court.

The 25-year-old Love will reportedly opt out of his contract with the Timberwolves after this season, making it very likely that Minnesota will deal their star player this summer before potentially losing him without receiving any compensation. Danny Ainge and the Celtics have a treasure chest full of future assets, from draft picks to young, low-cost players, and are one of the teams rumored to be interested in Love. He reportedly won't sign a contract extension with any team, wanting to test the free agent waters in 2015, but many teams are willing to take a risk for the three-time All Star.

Love was at Sunday's Red Sox game with his agent, who also represents former Celtics star Paul Pierce. Sox designated hitter David Ortiz, who spent the first six years of his career in the Twins organization before signing with Boston in 2003, caught wind of Love being at town late Sunday, and did his best to recruit him on Twitter:

The "Summer of Love" is officially underway in Boston.
