Huge Spike In Applicants For MassChallenge

BOSTON (CBS) - One of the largest competitions for business startups is getting even larger. MassChallenge says the competition received more than 1,200 applicants for this year, a big increase over last year.

Founder and CEO John Harthorne says applicants came from all over the world.

MassChallenge gives promising startups space and support as they bring their ideas to the next level. Finalists will be announced in May.

The startups compete for more than one million dollars in prizes.
