Health Officials Confirm 2nd Measles Case In Boston
BOSTON (CBS) – Boston health officials confirmed a second case of measles in the city on Wednesday.
The patient, who was previously suspected of having the illness, is a woman in her 20's who lives in the same building as the French Consulate worker who was the first confirmed measles case in Boston.
Health officials announced on Tuesday that they suspect a faculty member at UMass Boston may have measles, which is highly contagious and can be contracted through the air.
People with two doses of the MMR vaccine are said to be immune to measles.
In all, there have been two confirmed measles cases and three other suspected cases in the past week in Boston.
