Free Coffee Served For Columbus Day Weekend Travelers

BOSTON (AP) — Free coffee will be served at more than a dozen service plazas along state highways in Massachusetts as travelers return home from the Columbus Day weekend.

Plazas along the Massachusetts Turnpike, Route 3 in Plymouth, Route 128 in Beverly, Route 6 in Barnstable and others will offer free coffee from 10 p.m. Monday through 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Columbus Day weekend is one of the busiest weekends of the year on Massachusetts highways, with travelers heading toward popular fall destinations in New Hampshire, Maine and Cape Cod.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority will operate on a weekday schedule on Monday.
