Framingham Man Struck And Killed By Alleged Drunk Driver

FRAMINGHAM (CBS) -- A Hudson man is facing drunk driving charges after police say he struck and killed a young man who was walking on Route 9 in Framingham Wednesday night.

Police say 24-year-old Patrick Stratton, of Framingham, was crossing the street shortly before 8 p.m. when he was struck by a car.

The driver, 33-year-old Jason Theriault, of Hudson, was arrested at the scene.

Police said he's now facing his second drunk driving offense and a charge of motor vehicle homicide by reckless negligent operation.

Theriault was  arraigned Thursday in Framingham District Court where a judge ordered him held on $5,000 cash bail. The judge also ordered him not to drive, use alcohol or drugs, and to be subjected to random drug tests.

The incident remains under investigation.
