Police, FBI Search Quincy Self-Storage Facility

QUINCY (CBS) - The FBI moved in to a Quincy storage facility with a search warrant Monday morning, leaving customers unable to go in.

"I can't get into the building," said David Aristide, a customer who came to drop some things off at his storage unit. "They told me that it's been an ongoing investigation."

Investigators in white protective suits worked around a blue tent set up inside Extra Space Storage on Liberty Street. The Boston Fire Department's hazardous materials team was also there.

"I see the fire department here, something that could potentially have an effect on the neighborhood. I think it's a good thing that somehow or another it was detected," said Anita Harris, also a customer. "I was shocked that there was this much activity going on. You know, that was shocking, because clearly somebody's intent on finding something."

FBI Boston spokesperson Kristen Setera said there was no threat to the public. "The FBI is conducting court authorized activity in connection with an ongoing federal investigation," she said. "Due to the ongoing investigation, we're going to decline further comment."
