Elderly Man Killed In West Newbury House Fire

WEST NEWBURY (CBS) -- An elderly man was killed in a fire at a West Newbury home Tuesday morning, the State Fire Marshal's office confirmed.

Firefighters responded to the 2-alarm fire at the Meeting House Hill Road home around 7:30a.m. The man, believed to be the homeowner, was killed in the blaze. Three firefighters were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Fire officials are waiting for results from a medical exam to confirm the man's identity.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
