Donald Trump Showered With Boos After Name-Dropping Tom Brady At Rally Full Of Ravens Fans

By Matt Dolloff, CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) -- Donald Trump seems to love sprinkling Tom Brady's name throughout his campaign speeches, presumably because he wants to associate himself with winners. It ostensibly helped him win the Massachusetts Primary, but that same trick won't work in cities and states that despise Brady and the Patriots with every fiber of their being.

Trump held a rally in Berlin, Md., which is about a three-hour drive from Baltimore, but close enough to be filled with Ravens fans. So when Trump said, "Do we love Tom Brady? Right?" he naturally got showered with (mostly) boos from the Ravens faithful in attendance.

Also, a protestor holding a sign reading "Trump Loves Brady" got kicked out of the rally. See, this guy knows the audience:

It would be hilarious if Trump ended up losing the April 26 Maryland primary because he merely mentioned the name of the most nefarious, despicable player in the history of the league (in the eyes of many irrational, ungrateful football fans). But you have to wonder what the Donald was thinking here, name-dropping Brady to a sea of Ravens fans.

Perhaps Trump assumed the fans rooted for the Redskins? Maybe he gave them too much credit for being intelligent enough to have a baseline respect for one of the league's all-time greats? Because their team hasn't exactly employed respectable people over the years.
