David Krejci Suffers No Broken Bones, Considered Day-To-Day For Bruins
BOSTON (CBS) -- There is positive news out of Winnipeg.
Bruins coach Claude Julien updated the media after practice on Monday and said that David Krejci did not suffer a broken bone on Sunday, and he is considered day-to-day.
Krejci left Sunday's game with 5:14 left in the third period in Pittsburgh after Johnny Boychuk's slap shot hit the Boston center just above his knee in what looked to be an unprotected area between his shin pad and pants.
Julien said he didn't know if Krejci would be able to play Tuesday night in Winnipeg, but the news of no broken bones is very much welcomed by the Bruins, who lost Chris Kelly to a broken tibia last week.
"Hopefully he'll be back soon," Julien said of Krejci.
Krejci entered Sunday's game coming off his best performance of the year, when he scored a goal and added two assists on Saturday against the Capitals. His line, with Milan Lucic and Nathan Horton, had come under criticism a bit for underperforming lately, but the trio had nine points on Saturday.
Krejci missed Monday's optional skate, which only eight forwards, three defensemen and the two goalies participated in.
