Celtics' Isaiah Thomas Named Eastern Conference Player Of The Week
BOSTON (CBS) -- After helping the Celtics to a 4-0 week, Isaiah Thomas received some recognition from the league on Monday.
Thomas was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week after averaging 20.3 points, seven assists and 4.5 rebounds in Boston's four victories from February 1-4.
Here's a look at Thomas' week, which included a very big game against the best team in the conference:
Feb. 2 @ New York: Thomas scored 20 points to go with eight assists and five rebounds in a 97-89 victory against the Knicks.
Feb. 3 vs. Detroit: Thomas finished with 17 points, seven assists and five rebounds in a 102-95 win over the Pistons.
Feb. 5 @ Cleveland: Thomas led the Celtics with 22 points to go with four assists and four rebounds in a 104-103 win over the Cavaliers.
Feb. 7 vs. Sacramento: The Boston guard had his second straight 22-point game, plus nine assists and four rebounds, in a 128-119 victory against the Kings.
Thomas, averaging a team-high 21.4 points and 6.6 assists per game this season, will play in his first NBA All-Star game in Toronto on Sunday as a reserve for the Eastern Conference. He'll also take part in the skills competition on Saturday.
