CBSSports: BU To Hire BC Assistant Joe Jones As Basketball Coach
BOSTON (CBS) - CBSSports.com's Jeff Goodman is reporting Boston University has decided to hire Boston College associate head coach Joe Jones as their new head basketball coach.
Jones was the head coach at Columbia for seven years where he posted an 86-108 regular season record. He resigning to join Steve Donahue's staff at BC last season.
BU has a press conference scheduled for Monday to announce the hiring.
Jones takes over for Pat Chambers, who left to take the head coaching job at Penn State earlier in June.
The Terriers were 21-14 last season, finishing 12-4 in America East conference play. They made it to the NCAA Tournament, losing 72-53 to one-seeded Kansas in the first round.
