Bruins Sign "Sheriff" Shane Hnidy
BOSTON (CBS) - The Bruins signed free agent defenseman Shane Hnidy to a one-year deal on Saturday.
The 35-year-old is with the team in Vancouver, but was not cleared to play Saturday night.
Hnidy, who has not played an NHL game this season, tallied 17 points (4 goals, 13 assists) while with the Bruins from 2007-2009.

The Bruins also announced that the team signed Providence Bruin Kirk MacDonald to an NHL contract, and he will remain with the Baby B's.
