College Student Sexually Assaulted In Brookline, Police Say

BROOKLINE (CBS) – Police are investigating after a female college student was sexually assaulted in Brookline while walking home.

Brookline Police said the incident took place in the area of St. Paul and Dummer Streets early Wednesday morning.

The woman said she was walking home from a business on Comm. Ave. around 1:45 a.m. when a man approached her near her front door.

Police say the woman did not see where the man came from and did not notice him following her.

After the man started a conversation with her, police say the woman told the suspect to leave her alone.

Brookline Police say the man did not comply and while the woman tried to get into her building she was grabbed and indecently assaulted.

The woman suffered minor injuries while breaking free and running into her apartment.

Police describe the suspect as a light-skinned man in his mid-20s to 30s with dark colored hair and facial hair.

The man is between 5'9" to 5'10", though it is not clear what the man was wearing.
