Boston's Best Places To Celebrate Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany is the world's largest volksfest, a German term for street festival or people's festival. It is a true celebration of culture with a German twist. Though Boston doesn't have a huge German history, there are lots of wonderful restaurants and breweries that celebrate Oktoberfest every year. This year, Oktoberfest runs from Saturday, September 19 through Sunday, October 4, enough time to visit all five of these delicious German restaurants and festivals! Mark your calendar and start making reservations so that you can enjoy plenty of brats and beer without waiting for a table.

Bronwyn is the Boston area's latest and greatest beer hall. Located in trendy Union Square, Bronwyn features a great outdoor beer garden space which is perfect for the gorgeous early autumn during Oktoberfest. Their head chef creates his own recipes for their sausages, bratwursts, noodle dishes and schnitzels drawing from a variety of central European flavors with a modern twist. Since Jacob Wirth's is located in Boston's Theater District, it is a great place to meet up with friends or family from other parts of the city because it is a short walk from the MBTA orange, red and green lines. This is an absolute must-visit restaurant for beer lovers because they have more than 40 beers on tap with new brews added daily!

Harpoon Brewery is one of the most fun places to celebrate Oktoberfest in Boston. Not only do they have one of the largest, most fun beer halls in town, they also host an Oktoberfest event. Harpoon Brewery's festivals are always especially popular for 20-somethings with live music, lots of munchies and all the harpoon beer you can drink. This year's Oktoberfest is taking place on Friday, October 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and again on Saturday, October 3 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. Please note that the doors close on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. Get to the brewery early to avoid a line, especially if the weather is good.
