Boston's Best Go Kart Tracks

Go Karting or "karting," as the regulars call the fun-filled and adrenaline enhanced activity, is the most popular motorsport in the world. Interest in this exhilarating pastime is quickly expanding across the U.S. Go karting is a fun and unique activity, which allows the driver and sometimes a rider to experience the thrill of a real road adventure. Here are the best five go kart venues in the Boston area to enjoy with the family or as a business bonding activity. Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!

F1 Boston

F1 Boston is a prime location for go kart racing. There are two indoor European-style tracks available at the venue. The price of kart rental includes a suit, helmet and kart, and F1 Boston offers rentals for business or social functions. There are many entertainment options available at F1 Boston, including  Arrive & Drive (open racing sessions available to the public seven days per week); leagues for adults, endurance leagues, private leagues and junior leagues; and junior camps. There's even the Ascari Restaurant and Bar, a full service bar and restaurant, and a billiards parlor for those who looking for some good food and fun after a speedy race. Let's hit the road!

Checkered Flag Indoor Kart Racing

This 30,000 square foot indoor kart racing venue offers karts that travel around the track up to 30 mph for "Pro Racers." The Junior Speed drivers, which include families and younger racers who are at least 54" tall, travel at 18 mph at this fun-filled facility. There is also a Mini Cup Track available for racers who are four to nine years old. Checkered Flag Indoor Kart Racing uses a state-of-the-art timing and scoring system that gives each driver their race results and lap times upon completion.

This outdoor family adventure venue offers mini golf, a driving range and an ice cream stand, in addition to go-karting. The family fun track has electric go carts, which are environmentally friendly and quieter than the usual gas operated versions. The standard 54" height is required to operate the carts, but there are double seat carts available to accommodate the younger passengers who are under the height requirement. All drivers with passengers must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.

Jay Gee's offers go kart riders a newly renovated oval-shaped family go kart track. The track has great curves to accommodate the quick go karts as they swoop around the loops of the track. Speed racers there years and older can ride along for free with a responsible over-17-year-old driver, but solo drivers must meet the 54" height requirement. There are also batting cages a great mini golf option to add to the family fun at Jay Gee's Ice Cream and Fun Center.

Tri-State Speedway is a family owned and run facility that offers a 22,000 square foot track for its state-of-the-art electric go karts. With 10 turns and two straight aways, go kart drivers feel like they are navigating a real racetrack at Tri-State Speedway. There is also an arcade, mini golf, bumper cars, bowling and a roller skating rink to entertain the entire family.
