Begin the day in South Boston on the west side with the annual St. Patrick's Day 5K Race sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of Boston. Each of the first 600 runners to register will be awarded a long sleeved Drop Kick Murphy embossed race shirt. Beginning and ending at the Boys & Girls Club, the oval course is an easy 3.1 mile loop, a wonderful primer for the youngest Boston Marathon hopefuls. This is a small 5K with less than two thousand allowed to enroll; wear those lucky green socks saved for just this occasion.
