Boston's Best Bars For Wine Tasting

Wine tastings in Boston do not have to take place at private parties or wineries. A number of bars offer wine tastings for guests. Whether a wine fan is looking for a place to eat dinner and find a nice vintage or just looking to have a few drinks, there is a place for it in the city. There are even liquor stores with wine vending machines, but these bars will at least let you sit down for your drink.

The first thing guests will notice about BELLY Wine Bar is the chic, modern atmosphere. Beyond that, it's all about the food and wine. BELLY has an ever-evolving wine list and food menu. In fact, potential diners will want to check with the restaurant to see what's going on as far as charcuterie and meals before heading in. Special brunches are also happening all the time, so those who like a little breakfast with that wine should make sure to reserve a table.

Good wine comes from all over the world, but many believe the best food to pair with that wine comes from France. Troquet offers a French menu with delicious items like duck confit salad and roasted suckling pig. Guests will also find local favorites like Maine lobster to go with the extensive wine list. The restaurant is right on the Common with views of the outdoor space, so diners can enjoy the city while they eat and sip wine.

Self-titled as "Boston's Best Wine Bar," Les Zygomates may not be far from the mark. It boasts modern decor with exposed brick and plenty of room for comfortable seating. The wine selection is plentiful, the small menu is great and the venue has live jazz. There isn't much more Les Zygomates could do to make the dining and drinking experience more rewarding.

Bin 26 is a Beacon Hill establishment, so it is not for every kind of wine drinker. Those looking for a casual environment in which to imbibe may look elsewhere, but those looking for delicious food and the perfect wines to pair with it should look no farther. The dishes are not too large and the prices very approachable. The idea is to get just enough of everything, so guests can enjoy the lovely flavors without overdoing it.
