Boston High School Employee Charged With Trying To Kill Teen
BOSTON (CBS) -- A staff member at a Jamaica Plain high school has been fired for allegedly trying to kill a teenager, authorities say.
Shaun Harrison, 55, was charged with armed assault with intent to murder in connection with the Tuesday night shooting of a 17-year-old male in Roxbury, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley's office.
Authorities alleged that Harrison ran a marijuana distribution business and had enlisted the victim to work for him until a dispute arose between them.
On Tuesday night, authorities say the two left Harrison's home on Pompeii Street and were walking on Magazine Street when Harrison pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the back of the victim's head and fired.
Surveillance video from a nearby business captured the incident.
Police said the teenage victim was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Harrison was arrested Wednesday.
A LinkedIn page for "Rev. Shaun Harrison" identified him as dean of students at English High School.
A Boston Public Schools spokeswoman said Harrison was the "Dean of Academy" there, where he functioned as a family outreach coordinator.
