Hail Storm Keeps Boston's Auto Body Shops Busy
BOSTON (CBS) -- The unusually large hail that fell during Tuesday's severe storms pelted cars all over the Boston area, and that's left local body shops with a windfall.
When Hynes Auto Body General Manager Ken Girard arrived to work early Wednesday morning, the phone was already ringing.
"It all happens at once, so it's really a lot of people wanting things done at the same time," Girard told WBZ NewsRadio 1030. "That's a difficult thing, the balancing act."
The falling ice chunks - some measuring as big as 2 inches - was not nice to vehicles, leaving behind broken glass and denting roofs, hoods and fenders.
"It's been busy," Girard said. "Everbody in this area got hit pretty hard."
Car owners with damage should call their insurance companies first, and it can likely be fixed without a surcharge, Girard says.
