People across eastern Massachusetts woke up Wednesday to cars buried in several feet of snow, and finding that many side streets are still impossible to navigate.

Four towns hit the three-foot mark and several ended up with more than 30 inches from the Blizzard of 2015.
A ban on non-essential travel ended at midnight and traffic started moving again slowly on highways.

The MBTA resumed subway and commuter rail service, although delays are expected.

Bus service was more uncertain and most schools remain closed.
Logan Airport resumed flights.

The misery isn't over, however.
More than 11,000 homes and businesses remained without power Wednesday.
The blizzard punched a gaping hole in a seawall and swamped a vacant home in Marshfield.
Temperatures at the beginning of the day were in the teens and weren't expected to rise beyond the mid-20s.
WBZ-TV meteorologists said it won't get above freezing for a week and more snow is in the forecast.
