Best Pre-Game Drinks Near Fenway Park

You're headed to Fenway to catch the Red Sox in the World Series. You've allowed plenty of time for traffic, and you made enough time to grab a drink. Or maybe you don't have a ticket and just want to be near the park on game day. Here are some of the best spots to grab a beer near Fenway Park.
Boston Baseball Tavern

Baseball Tavern

1270 Boylston St.

From the Baseball Tavern's rooftop deck you have a view of Fenway Park. The Tavern is three stories and if watching for fly balls isn't your thing, there are enough big screen TVs in the place to keep you occupied with other programming.

The Bleacher Bar

Bleacher Bar

82A Lansdowne Street

This may be the closest you get to Fenway Park without needing a ticket. The Bleacher Bar is a space beneath the bleachers in center field. It used to be the away team's batting cage and has also been used for field maintenance storage. Now it serves up food and drink before, during and after games (and on non-game days, as well). There's a window that looks directly through centerfield into the park. During the game a glass garage door comes down that keeps the players from seeing in, but patrons can still see out.

Lansdowne Pub Boston

Lansdowne Pub

9 Lansdowne Street

As the name implies, the Lansdowne Pub is on Lansdowne Street, the street that runs along the outfield. It's an Irish Pub with a $5 cover. It gets crowded on game day, so plan ahead.

Cask N Flagon Boston

Cask 'N Flagon

62 Brookline Ave.

The Cask 'N Flagon is on the corner of Brookline Avenue and Lansdowne Street in the shadow of Fenway Park. It started as a small bar known as Oliver's and has grown to a landmark for Red Sox fans.

Hours: Daily: 5pm-1am

Located just a few steps from Fenway Park, Citizen Public House & Oyster Bar offers up 75 whiskeys, local micro-brews and hand-crafted cocktails. For cocktails for a crowd, order a punch bowl for four or more people. The lengthy list of whiskeys not only includes American and Bourbon, but also Indian and Japanese whiskey.

The Lower Depths

476 Commonwealth Ave.
Boston, MA 02115
(617) 266-6662

Don't expect any sort of Cask n' Flagon shenanigans here. It's a much more laid back beer bar-type spot. Lower Depths offers up a solid beer list and some fantastic specialty hot dogs for the hungry sports fan. The bar is also a cheaper alternative to many of the tourist spots and sight-seeing options. IT'S CASH ONLY!!! So stop by the ATM in Kenmore on your way over. Loud music is the norm here, so make sure you're ready for a down 'n dirty good time when you hit up The Lower Depths.

Cornwall's Boston

654 Beacon Street
Boston, MA 02215
(617) 262-3749

Cornwall's is just down the street from Fenway Park in Kenmore Square. It's a British style pub that is quite popular for Red Sox fans who want to grab something before walking the block to the Park.
