Woman Reported Missing From Attleboro Nursing Home Found In Braintree

ATTLEBORO (CBS) - A 73-year-old woman reported missing from an assisted living facility in Attleboro has been found safe. Attleboro Police say Dorothy Lucas was located in Braintree on Monday.

Lucas is a resident at a nursing home on George Street in Attleboro and reportedly suffers from dementia. She was reported missing from the facility late Saturday night.

She left with 51-year-old Mark Chicoine of Attleboro, who had befriended her while he was visiting another resident of the nursing home.

Lucas willingly left the facility with Chicoine, but police were concerned she was being financially exploited.

Chicoine has not been charged with any crimes and is cooperating with investigators.

"Based on Lucas' known medical conditions for which she requires medication, and the fact that investigators had learned that she withdrew a large sum of money from a bank in Attleboro shortly after leaving the facility, the Attleboro Police had concerns for her health and well-being," Attleboro Police said.

A South Shore Plaza mall employee spotted Lucas and Chicoine and notified Braintree Police.

Lucas was taken to a hospital to receive treatment and medications required for her medical condition.
