Car Blocks Front Of Ashland Home After Crash

ASHLAND (CBS) – There was quite a scene in Ashland overnight as a car ended upright after a crash, covering the front of a house.

The sedan was pinned behind a pickup truck, blocking the living room window of a home on Prospect Street around 4:30 a.m.Wednesday.

"I was asleep obviously and there was a huge what sounded like an explosion. The house vibrated unbelievably," homeowner Susan Norcross told WBZ-TV.

The fire department Tweeted photos of the crash scene, saying only one person was hurt, but the injuries were minor.

There's no word yet on what caused the crash.

Norcross said that given the seriousness of the crash, she was surprised to find that the driver was mostly unhurt.

"He looked like a zombie. It was 4:30 in the morning. It was like a nightmare," said Norcross. "But he was unbelievably OK. He shouldn't have made it out of it alive. He really shouldn't have."

Norcross' car, which was parked in the driveway at the time of the crash, was damaged during the collision.

But the Ashland resident said the building inspector deemed her home livable, leaving only insurance paperwork for her house and car as her biggest concern going forward.
