WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Announced As 2016 Marconi Award Finalist

BOSTON - WBZ NewsRadio 1030 added another honor to its long list of accomplishment on Tuesday. The station was announced as a finalist for a prestigious National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Radio Award.

Each year the Marconi Awards honor radio stations and on-air personalities for excellence in broadcasting. The awards are regarded by industry professionals as the top honor in radio broadcasting.

WBZ-AM is among five announced finalists for 2016 News/Talk Station of the Year. The station has previously won five Marconi Awards, including News/Talk Station of the Year in 2013.

Just last month, the station won a National Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast.

Additional Marconi finalists representing CBS Boston include Toucher & Rich of 98.5 The Sports Hub, in the Major Market Personality of the Year category; and WZLX, a finalist for Rock Station of the Year.

The 2016 NAB Marconi Radio Awards winners will be announced September 22.
