Division 6: Cohasset vs. Littleton
Though Littleton snagged the game's first points of the day, the Tigers were no match for a powerful Cohasset team, which dominated throughout for a 35-22 victory.
Littleton drove down the field for a touchdown and two-point conversion on its opening drive of the game, but Cohasset scored the game's next 35 points to take control of the game with a 35-8 lead.
The Tigers managed a late touchdown to pull within 35-14, recovered the ensuing onside kick and drove to the end zone once more to slice the deficit to 35-22.
But it was too little, too late for Littleton as Cohasset went on to the 35-22 title win.
Division 2: Longmeadow vs. Marshfield
Marshfield had no issues dispatching Longmeadow in the Division 2 title game, storming to a 39-0 halftime lead and cruising in the second half to snag the 45-6 championship win.
Among the many highlights of the game for Marshfield came from defensive back Kyle Meeken.
Meeken dropped back in coverage and when the pass was thrown he jumped and pulled down a full extension one-handed interception. It was the first of his two picks on the day, as Meeken hauled in another one later in the game, this time with two hands.
Longmeadow prevented the shutout thanks to a touchdown run with 1:03 to play, but the Rams took home the hardware after the easy victory.
Division 1: Everett vs. Xaverian
In one of the marquis match ups of the day, Xaverian's Noah Sorrento proved to be too much for Everett to stop as he rushed for 203 yards, four touchdowns and led his team to a 38-29 win.
Lucas Dennis had a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown to put Everett up 14-7 in the opening quarter.
But Xaverian took a 31-14 lead into halftime thanks to three touchdowns by Sorrento in the second frame, two within just over two minutes of each other just before halftime.
Everett pulled within 31-29 at the 4:54 mark of the third quarter, but Sorrento's fourth and final score of the day capped the scoring with 11 seconds to go in the third as the Hawks held on to win.
Division 4: Holliston vs. Wahconah
Holliston competed in its first state championship game since 2010 and quickly made their presence known against the previously undefeated Wahconah Warriors.
Holliston senior Zach Elkinson led his team with four touchdowns, three of which brought the team to a 22-0 lead into halftime.
Holliston overwhelmed Wahconah with a 43-0 win.
Division 3: Dartmouth vs. Melrose
Both Dartmouth and Melrose entered the game on a 7-game winning streak, but only one took the label of state champion. That team was Dartmouth.
Dartmouth got off to a great start and led Melrose 14-7 at the half, and the score stayed that way for the rest of the game.
Division 5: Abington vs. Northbridge
Abington secured its fourth Super Bowl win over Northbridge for the final game of the day.
Abington led at the half and kept the momentum going, scoring two touchdowns within the first three minutes of the second half.
