2 Votes Separate Winner, Loser In Amesbury Mayoral Election

AMESBURY (CBS) --- Just two votes separated the winner from the loser in Amesbury's mayoral election.

According to the town clerk's office, Ken Gray received 2,092 votes and incumbent Mayor Thatcher Kezer received 2,90 votes.

The unofficial results posted Tuesday night showed Gray ahead of Kezer by 8 votes.

After a full tally Wednesday morning, that gap tightened to just two votes.

Kezer told the Daily News of Newburyport, he would seek a recount.

Secretary of State William Galvin's office has not said when that recount will take place.

Kezer has served as mayor since 2006.
