Women's Fall Fashion For Under $30 In Baltimore
By Elizabeth Eadie
By now, you've no doubt heard about the concept of mixing up and down. Price points, that is. Sometimes it pays to splurge on those expensive pieces. But if you've got a little time on your hands, try mixing and matching all from the same category, (the affordable one, that is). You might be surprised what you will find. And not only will you find great pieces to complement your wardrobe, you'll save money, too. Can you think of a better fashion trend than saving money?
This entire outfit cost less than $30. I'm not talking about the individual pieces each costing $30 (which some probably did at some point). Total. $30! This outfit is perfect for those fall days when we get a warm snap that tricks us into thinking winter isn't just around the corner. Pair with a lightweight trench or a patterned scarf and you'll be ready to take on the world.
Let me break it down for you, ladies:
The top is a silky burnt orange blouse. Since the ruffled collars are less prevalent this season, silky blouses are the feminine response to a tailored shirt. They can be dressed up or down. Sometimes they can look bohemian and others times they look super polished. I found this beauty at Forever 21 in the Towson Town Center.
This fall is all about the pencil skirt and I really scored when I found this at Village Economy Thrift. I mean, normally thrift store prices are pretty amazing. I lucked out because this one had a yellow tag and the yellow tags just happened to be 50 percent off. I have to point out that this is an unworn Ann Taylor skirt. Less than $5.
Black flats are classic. They go with everything (even navy and brown). These little slippers take classic black flats to a whole new level with the gold trim along the edge. Gold is making its come back in a major way and if you haven't gotten around to adding it into your wardrobe, this might just be the perfect baby step for you. I picked these up at Village Economy Thrift and I kid you not, another girl gasped when she saw them.
I loved this ring the minute I saw it. I've always had a crush on anything remotely tortoise-shell looking and this ring falls right in line. Of course it matches this outfit perfectly but I think big fun statement rings can be very versatile pieces. And for $1.50, you could buy one in every color. Check out these and more very affordable accessories at Forever 21. Oh, be sure to pick up the leopard scarf while you're there!
