WEATHER BLOG: Humid & Warm
Weak front has passed through the area and the wind, although light, has shifted into the west. As a result most shower/tstorm activity will be mainly east and south of the city this evening. Plenty of moisture in low levels so as skies become partly cloudy areas of fog are likely to form and that could be a problem for awhile tomorrow morning. The rest of tomorrow won't be too bad although it will be hot and humid. After that we remain in a very warm and humid air mass tomorrow night and Friday and there is a little disturbance from the midwest that could initiate a shower or thunderstorm.
The next real front...and it looks like an honest to goodness cold front, will cross the area in the period from late Saturday into Sunday. Computer models are completely different today ...instead of an upper level low closing off over the Ohio Valley and leading to a very slow and perhaps even stalling frontal system along the eastern seaboard, they are now progressive indicating frontal passage Saturday night and clearing Sunday. We're still not ready to buy that solution completely but we are leaning more toward that idea. In any case it will be cooler, less humid and more comfortable for the first part of next week.
