President Donald Trump Fires Back At Stephen Colbert

BALTMORE (WJZ)-- For months, CBS Late Show host, Stephen Colbert, has been going after President Donald Trump. Now the president is firing back.

Stephen Colbert is claiming victory after the president called him out, following months of his late night monologues making fun of President Trump.

Something Colbert views as a victory, after spending months making the president the central focus of his monologues.

In an interview with Time Magazine, the president takes credit for Colbert's boost in ratings:

"You see a no-talent guy like Colbert. There's nothing funny about what he says. And what he says is filthy. And you have kids watching. And it only builds up my base. It only helps me, people like him. The guy was dying. They were going to take him off television. Then he started attacking me and he started doing better. But his show was dying. I've done his show but when I did his show, which by the way was very highly rated. It was high - highest rating. The highest rating he's ever had."

Colbert addresses the president's comments point by point and offers Trump one suggestion on how to get revenge: resign.

Colbert admits that would seriously affect his monologues.
