Towson Diving Coach Suspended For Life After Peeping Tom Charges

TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) -- Maureen Mead has been suspended for life by USA Swimming after pleading guilty to placing a cell phone in her diving team's locker room.

Mead pleaded guilty on February 10 and received three years of probation before judgment.

Mead said that she taped the swimmers because she wanted to know what they were saying in the locker room.

She was fired from Towson and her husband, who was a swimming coach, also resigned.

According to USA Swimming's website, Mead violated its code of conduct by using recording devices in a locker room. It continued that her conduct is "detrimental to the image or reputation of USA Swimming."
