The Norris & Davis Show Best Of - Week Of April 9th
This week's edition of the Norris & Davis Show Best Of includes interviews with Golf Digest's Ron Sirak and Sports Illustrated's Jeff Ritter who were both live from Augusta and The Masters.
RON SIRAK
Ron started by talking about where this event ranks and whats makes it so special saying "what makes the Masters special is that it's the smallest field because it's an invitational, and it's played on the same course every year and the course always becomes part of this event."
Ron talked about Bubba Watson as the favorite for the tournament saying "this course is made for him being left handed...the question with Bubba is you never know if his brain is going to show up with his golf clubs every week." Ron expounded upon that point adding another golfer saying "I put Bubba and Dustin Johnson in the category of guys who are tremendously talented but not the smartest players."
Ron also talked about Tiger Woods and gave his thoughts on whether or not he thinks Tiger will ever win another major tournament.
JEFF RITTER
Jeff started off by talking about Jordan Spieth and whether or not winning the Masters last year is effecting the way he has fallen off so far this year "I don't think so to be honest...I'm not concerned that he hasn't won since January, remember at this time last year Rory McIlroy was king of the world...that's the thing about golf you go through stretches where you're locked in and stretches where you can't find your form."
Jeff also talked about Bubba Watson and his chances despite being the forgotten man even though he's had great success at the Masters saying "I love his chances, I love the golf course for him...he has a great chance here to lock himself in and keep his string of even year victories at Augusta, I see him as the favorite."
