Texans Release Former Raven Ed Reed
HOUSTON (WJZ) -- The Houston Texans have released safety Ed Reed.
Reed left the Ravens during the offseason and was picked up by the Texans to add some experience to a young secondary. Injuries and lack of performance on the field have been an issue for Reed all season.
He got into some trouble this week after the Texans' 27-24 loss to the Arizona Cardinals saying that the team was "outplayed and out coached."

According to CBS Houston, Reed played 32 snaps in the last home game against the Colts. Shilo Keo has received most of the playing time at free safety while rookie defensive back DJ Swearinger handled duties at strong safety.
The future Hall of Famer signed with the Texans in the offseason after having surgery on an ailing hip. He missed all of the preseason and training camp, along with the first two regular season games, the Texans' only wins of the season.
