Suspect In Baltimore Hotel Shooting Is Slain
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man accused last year of shooting another man in the face with a semiautomatic weapon at a downtown hotel.
The slaying of Raymond Woodland, 20, on Sunday morning is prompting questions about why he wasn't charged in last December's high-profile shooting.
Two men who intervened after the hotel shooting have been charged with attempted murder and are scheduled for trial next month. Police say Dominic Anderson and Omar Abdullah beat Woodland into critical condition.
Police had pledged that Woodland would be charged after he was released from the hospital. But that never happened. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the department is reviewing the case to determine why Woodland wasn't locked up.
