Suspect Charged In Royal Farms Armed Robbery Spree

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- Police have arrested a man suspected of carrying out a string of armed robberies targeting convenience stores across several local counties, authorities announced Tuesday.

The armed robbery spree started May 24 when police say the man robbed a Royal Farms Store in the 7200 block of York Road at gunpoint. Over the next two weeks, the same suspect robbed at least six Royal Farms stores in Baltimore, Harford and Howard counties.

Detectives from several agencies -- Baltimore County Police Department, Baltimore City Police Department, Harford County Sheriff's Office, Howard County Police Department and the FBI Baltimore Violent Crimes Task Force -- later identified the suspect as Mark Eugene Peters.

Peters, 28, was taken into custody last week on a list of armed robbery charges. He's being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Police believe Peters is responsible for the following robberies:

  • Royal Farms, 7200 block of York Road in Baltimore County on May 24;
  • Royal Farms, 7200 block of Pulaski Highway in Baltimore County on May 24;
  • Royal Farms, 1000 block of Eastern Boulevard in Baltimore County on May 25;
  • Royal Farms, 4300 block of Hollins Ferry Road on June 4;
  • Royal Farms, 8600 block of Washington Boulevard in Howard County on May 29;
  • Royal Farms, 2000 block of Mountain Road in Harford County on May 30.

They're working to find out whether he's responsible for a list of robberies targeting similar stores (Royal Farms and 7-Eleven) in the same time frame.
