Summer Camp Guide For Baltimore

With summertime just around the corner, now is the time to start looking around for the area's best camps for your kids. If they like outdoor adventure, music, sports, education and most importantly fun, the Baltimore area offers a wide variety of camps for all ages and we have compiled a list of some of them to help you get jump on your search.

Family & Pets- Summer Cap Guide for Baltimore – Musical Theatre Summer Camp

Admission: $395.00 – two week session camps beginning in June

"The Lion King," "Wicked," "Little Mermaid" and "Peter Pan" - this is serious fun! The Musical Theater Summer Camp, with various locations in Baltimore bring in the area's top production directors, actors and coaches to make sure you kid learns from the best but has lots of fun too. The productions are all themed on the hit Broadway musicals with classes in singing, dancing, acting, costumes and stagecraft. This is a day-long camp with a final performance for family and friends on the last day.

Johns Hopkins University offers lacrosse summer camps for guys and girls, ages 6 through 18 with various levels of competition and instruction with flexible hours. Instruction and play takes place on Hopkins' official lacrosse stadium giving your kids the feel of real-competitive match-ups. The Little Jays Lacrosse Camp for kids ages 6-12 focuses on the fundamentals of the game including, shooting, offensive, defensive skills, cradling and confidence building and team work.  The Blue Jay Lacrosse Camp for lax players in eighth to 12th grade offers day or overnight camps, in-game situations and skill building. Hopkins also offers Developmental Middle School Girl's Lacrosse Camp for girls where fifth to eighth graders focus on the transition of the player from middle school to high school level of play.

Camp Bravo is a day-long camp with 34 years of experience, making kids' summer fun and educational. Its professional staff welcomes children 4 ½ years old through sixth grade. The campers' busy day is full of swimming, sports, science, music and arts and crafts.  Some students are also eligible for a variety of elective classes. Camp Bravo offer extended care services and door-to-door bus pick-up and drop off.

Located in 67 acres of woodland, Camp Puh'tok offers the traditional overnight and day-long camp programs centered on outdoor adventure, learning, friend-making, history and teamwork. Campers ages 5-16 can take part in week-long or two-week long sessions throughout the summer with day camp available to those between the ages of 5 to 9. Camp Puh'tok also specializes in white water rafting, horseback riding and Extreme Tipi Encampment, where campers live in tipis and get to experience the Native American Culture – close up!

Earth Treks Climbing, with three locations in Maryland, offers summer camps for kids between the ages of 6 and 14. Each camp involves adventure either inside or out! The Climbing Day Camp for kids ages 9 – 13 is the most popular and geared to get your kids ready indoors to take on climbing walls and rocks in the outdoors. Other camps include, Rock N' River Camp, Rock N' Adventure Camp, Kids Camp and Teen Rox Expedition, the only Earth Trek's overnight camp where teenagers spend the week camping and climbing at a designated camping area.

With extensive experience in making the areas' best and most affordable summer camps, many parents turn to the Towson Family YMCA for their kids' summer enjoyment.  The Y offers half-day, all-day and overnight camps with many specialties. But the main focus is adventure, outdoors, crafts, games, learning and teamwork.
