Southwest Flight Headed To Baltimore U-Turns Due To Mechanical Issues

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Southwest Airlines flight headed to Baltimore has returned to a Tennessee airport after the pilot reported mechanical issues.

Nashville media reported the pilot decided to turn the plane around shortly after taking off Monday morning and landed safely at Nashville International Airport.

WSMV-TV reports the flight encountered multiple bird strikes before turning around.

The airline told the station that it is working to get all 110 passengers on other flights to Baltimore.

The plane was taken out of service for maintenance.
