Ravens Fans Pulling For Big Steelers Loss In Super Bowl

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- It's a "Blue Monday" for Ravens fans, in more ways than one. Their arch rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, are heading for another Super Bowl.

Ron Matz reports more on what might have been and what Ravens fans are saying.

They're celebrating in Pittsburgh, again.

"I definitely would rather see Green Bay win. I think the Steelers are the luckiest team in football. I think they have a good team, but there's a certain amount of arrogance to them and I don't like them at all. I dread seeing them in the Super Bowl," said Sheldon Weiner, fan.

At Miller's Deli, Ravens fans are in a Steelers stew.

"I'm rooting for Green Bay, absolutely. I don't like to see the Steelers win, whether it's against us or against anybody else," said Ann Holstein, fan. "They're Steelers fans, not nice. When they come to our stadium or we go to their stadium they're not nice. I sit around Steelers people once in a while, they don't understand it's a game, we're all playing for fun. At the end we should all be able to be happy about it."

But some Ravens fans look at the Steelers differently.

"The way it was taught to me was you always go with the team that put your team out. That's supposed to be the next best team, so I wouldn't be mad if the Steelers won, but I would rather see the Packers win," said Stacy Murchison, fan.

The Ravens are saying wait until next year.

"We should have had a game here, against the Jets," said Holstein.

It's been 10 years since the Ravens went to the big game. For the Steelers, it's their third Super Bowl appearance in the last six years.

"I'm definitely rooting for Green Bay, can't root for the Steelers. Can't do it. It's in my blood, can't do it. Something about the Steelers gets under my skin every time," said Tyler Davis, Ravens fan.

Friday will mark the 10-year anniversary of the Ravens 2001 victory over the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXXV.
