Police: Man Found Dead In Creek Apparently Drowned In Flood

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick Police say a man accidentally drowned while apparently seeking shelter in a creek tunnel during a driving rainstorm.

Officers said in a news release that the body of 49-year-old Santos Garcia of Frederick was found in Rock Creek in Willowdale Park Thursday morning. Investigators believe Garcia took shelter in a drainage tunnel during Wednesday evening's heavy rains.

Police say the rain caused major flooding in the creek and drainage tunnels.
