COLUMBIA, Md. (WJZ) -- Howard County police have charged three people in the burglaries of two Columbia homes.

Eighteen-year-old Colin Sean Hermonstyne of 10310 Hickory Ridge Road in Columbia, 18-year-old Devante Rashad Drummond of 7011 Marabou Court in Columbia, and a 17-year-old male from Columbia were charged with burglary and theft.

Police said they were investigating the three last week and observed a burglary in progress in the 8700 block of Carriage Hills Drive. They arrested Hermonstyne and the teen at the scene.

Drummond was identified as a suspect in the February burglary in the 12000 block of Little Paxutent Parkway.

Detectives believe the three could be linked to a series of burglaries in January. Other charges could be filed against them.
