BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore Police say a woman was killed and a pregnant woman was injured in a shooting in Northwest Baltimore Sunday.

Officers responded to the 5100 block of Park Heights Avenue around 5 p.m. for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a 28-year-old woman and a 30-year-old pregnant woman suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police believe the women were sitting in a parked car when a suspect came up and shot them before fleeing the scene.

The 28-year-old was taken to an area hospital where she died from her injuries. The pregnant woman was also taken to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
